Each year the St. Louis Public Library Foundation conducts its Annual Giving Campaign to raise funds for the St. Louis Public Library's programs and services. This year's Annual Giving Campaign will support the Library's crucial education programs, which serve over 57,000 children and adults every year. Donations will also be used to bring interesting authors to speak at the Library.
Recent data gathered from the 2010 Missouri Kids Count Data Center underscores the need for these services:
- In the city of St. Louis, there are more than 67,539 children.
- More than 34% of these children live in poverty.
- More than 16% of the city's students drop out of high school.
Your gift will ensure that St. Louisans have access to crucial education programs, including:
- Homework Helpers (Ages 5-18)
- PAWS for Reading (Ages 4-12)
- Summer Reading Club (Ages 4-17)
- Read it Forward (Ages 12-18)
- Reading Pays (Ages 7-12)
- GED Workshops (Ages 17 and up)
