You Can Make a Difference

Business & Foundation Giving

p1010012Business and Foundation giving to the St. Louis Public Library Foundation is a collaborative venture linking the St. Louis business community with the mission of the St. Louis Public Library.

The primary goal is to support the Foundation’s Annual Giving Campaign, which provides funds for author visits and the Library’s many after school programs.

A number of customized sponsorship and marketing opportunities for Library programs and services are available throughout the library system.

By supporting the St. Louis Public Library, businesses and foundations see increased visibility in the community and are able to leverage this involvement with their own marketing objectives and, most of all, have the satisfaction of being associated with and supporting an organization that provides free access to information for all.

SLPL Summer Reading Club

summer-readingThe St. Louis Public Library’s Summer Reading Club encourages children, ages 4 – 17, to improve their literacy skills over the summer months. Children are challenged to read 10 or more books during their break from school. Each year the Summer Reading Club brings in artists and performers to branches throughout the city to reinforce the year’s theme and expand upon the basic reading component of the program. As children reach reading milestones they are rewarded with incentives, which include books for each reading level.  The Summer Reading Club is designed to bring children to their neighborhood library several times throughout the summer months. These frequent visits provide the opportunity for children to become familiar with the library and the staff in the hopes that they will look to the library for support when they return to school in the Fall. Business and Corporate sponsors are acknowledged in all press releases and on select print materials used for the program. Each year over 18,000 children participate in the SLPL’s Summer Reading Club.
